Linda Edna Cardellini was born in Redwood City, California, to Lorraine (Hernan) and Wayne David Cardellini, a businessman. Linda is of Italian heritage (her paternal grandpa), Irish, German, English and Scottish (her mother). Linda lived in San Francisco Bay region, California as the youngest out of four siblings. Cinderella (2015) became her first feature film, following the role she played the role of Lady Rose MacClare (2012-2015) in Downton Abbey, a period television drama. James then portrayed the role of Countess Natasha Rostova as part of the TV adaptation of War & Peace (2016). Also, she appeared in a number films such as Baby Driver (2017) and The Dig -2021. and Here We Go Again (2018) and Yesterday (2019). Her performance as Pamela Anderson in the biographical series Pam & Tommy (2022) was nominated for an Golden Globe and a Primetime Emmy Award.
