Garena launched Garena introduced the Garena Professional League (GPL) in May 2012, a 6 month professional gaming competition that features over 100 online matches. The initial season of GPL is comprised of a League of Legends competition which is comprised of six professional teams. The teams are made up of the top players in their respective countries. GPL games are filmed and broadcast live online, along with commentaries. They are made available to the public to see on the GPL official website In January 2013 Garena revealed the second year of its Garena Premier League, which began on January 4, 2013. Garena Premier League 2013 includes two teams new from Taiwan and Vietnam, bringing the total amount of teams up to eight. AHQ, Saigon Fantastic Five, Bangkok Titans, Kuala Lumpur Hunters, Manila Eagles, Taipei Assassins, and Singapore Sentinels are the teams. Garena's eSports stadium that is that is dedicated to esports within the Neihu District Taipei, opened its doors on November 14 14, 2014. The facility was constructed in order to host the League of Legends Masters Series that is the most elite Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Macau LoL league that was a spun-off from the GPL. Garena launched her Iron Solari League in January 2015. It's the League of Legends women's tournament which is played at the Philippines. The event is held monthly and which is played in the second part of every month. This is a chance to increase participation by communities that are underrepresented and is accessible to any women who identify as an under-represented group. Alongside tournaments for competitive play, Garena also organizes events designed to allow members who want to connect and meet offline. The most notable of these is an annual Garena Carnival that is held in Singapore as well as Malaysia.
